IMMIGRATION AND REFUGEE BOARD

The Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) is the country's largest independent administrative tribunal, tasked with making well-founded decisions on immigration and refugee issues.

REFUGEE CLAIM APPLICATION

Canada provides refugee protection to individuals in the country who fear persecution or face danger if they are required to leave. The potential dangers they may encounter include:

  • Torture

  • Threats to their life

  • Risk of cruel and unusual treatment or punishment

If you believe you would be at risk of experiencing any of these dangers upon returning to your home country or the country where you usually reside, we can help advocate for your case.

REFUGEE APPEAL

If your application for a refugee protection, we can advocate for your case before the Refugee Appeal Board.

ADMISSIBILITY AND DETENTION

We can represent you before the Immigration Division of the Immigration and Refugee Board for our admissibility hearing and detention review.

IMMIGRATION APPEAL

We can represent you and advocate for your case before the Immigration Appeal Division for the following cases:

  • Appeals of family class sponsorship applications refused by IRCC officials

  • Appeals of removal orders made against permanent residents, protected persons, and holders of permanent resident visas

  • Appeals by permanent residents who have been found by an IRCC official outside of Canada not to have fulfilled their residency obligation
